If you are a serious or a casual swimmer and you aren’t sure where to start then let us help. 

Here you will find information on our pool admission policy, swimming lessons, and free-swimming initiatives across the county borough.

Free Swim Initiatives:

16 and under 

The free swim initiative funded by the Welsh Government, gives young people aged 16 and under, free-swimming sessions during the school holidays within designated times. 

You can find out more about the Free Swimming initiative for children and young people on the Sport Wales Website. 

Free structured swim sessions, including water polo and snorkelling, take part in the school holidays. Please look out for the timetable and further information a few weeks before. 

60+ 

Older people across the county borough can also take part in this exciting initiative, which gives everyone over the age of 60 the chance to swim for free in local swimming pools within designated times. 

Serving members and veterans of the armed forces 

Free swimming for Armed Forces and veterans is the latest initiative to be launched by the Welsh Government as part of its Package of Support for the Armed Forces Community. Members of the Armed Forces and Veterans are eligible for free swimming using their Defence Privilege Card which is available through the Ministry of Defence’s Defence Discount Service.

Members of the Armed Forces can access free swimming at Caerphilly County Borough Council leisure centres and is on offer to Veterans and Armed Forces Personnel on leave and who reside in Wales. The scheme gives access for all public swim sessions.

To access the Armed Forces Free Swimming Scheme (AFFS) Veterans and Armed Forces Personnel MUST hold valid ‘MOD Defence Privilege Card’ and a CCBC Leisure Card.
