Record-Breaking Donation for Llamau Following Caerphilly 10K

Published: 23 July 2026

The 2026 Caerphilly 10K has raised a record-breaking £1,107.50 for Llamau, the event’s official charity partner.

The funds were donated by runners who chose to support the charity when registering for the event, which welcomed 3,700 participants across the 10K and 2K races in May.

The cheque was presented at the Centre of Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach by Cllr Chris Morgan, Cabinet Member for Sport and Leisure, who said:
“We’re delighted to have raised a record amount for Llamau through this year’s event. I’d like to thank everyone who chose to donate when registering and Llamau for their valued support as our charity partner, as well as the important work they do supporting people across our communities.”

Michael Houghton, Head of Fundraising at Llamau, added:
“Raising a record-breaking £1,107.50 is a fantastic achievement and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who chose to support Llamau through this year’s event. We’ve been proud to be the Caerphilly 10K’s charity partner and would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the partnership.”

With the 2026 event marking the final year of Llamau’s charity partnership, applications are now open for organisations interested in becoming the official charity partner of the Caerphilly 10K, as well as businesses looking to support the event through a range of sponsorship opportunities. Organisations interested in sponsorship or becoming the official charity partner for the 2027 event can register their interest via the Caerphilly 10K Sponsorship and Partner Application Form.

The Caerphilly 10K returns on Sunday 9th May 2027. The current price freeze is in place until 30th September 2026, giving runners the opportunity to secure their place at the lowest available price.

The Caerphilly 10K supports the Sport and Active Recreation Strategy 2019-2029, helping to encourage more people to become active and take part in physical activity opportunities across the county borough.
