Newbridge Leisure Centre’s swimming pool will reopen on Friday 24th July following a programme of essential improvement works and is ready to welcome customers for the summer holidays.
The temporary closure has allowed a range of improvements to be completed, including poolside retiling, refurbishment of the female changing rooms with new floor tiles, the installation of temporary boilers, and general redecoration throughout the facility. New lockers, changing room furniture and permanent boilers are due to be installed over the coming weeks, completing the programme of works. Together, these improvements will enhance the long-term reliability, efficiency and overall customer experience at the leisure centre.
The investment supports Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Sport and Active Recreation Strategy 2019-2029, which aims to provide high-quality, sustainable leisure facilities that encourage more residents to be active.
During the closure, Cefn Fforest Leisure Centre continued to operate with extended pool opening hours, providing additional swimming opportunities for customers but will revert to its usual operating hours from Saturday.

The additional time taken to complete these essential improvements has allowed us to deliver a comprehensive programme of works that will improve the long-term reliability and efficiency of the facility while enhancing the experience for our customers. I’d like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while these works were completed.”
Swimming lessons will resume from Tuesday 28th July. Customers are encouraged to check the Leisure Lifestyle website or app for the latest swimming timetables before visiting.
